Thanh Dung Computer Lab

The Thanh Dung Computer Lab project was inspired by the belief that access to technology can change lives. In collaboration with local communities and organizations, we bring computers and digital learning tools to underserved schools in remote areas of Vietnam. By providing students with the opportunity to explore the digital world, we aim to bridge the gap between rural and urban education, empowering children to reach their full potential through technology.

Long Dong Elementary School in Lang Son Province, Vietnam, was an ideal place to start. Located in a remote area, the school had only one computer, which was brought by a teacher from the city. Students had to line up and take turns using this single computer, highlighting a significant educational gap. We were determined to change this.

Our journey began by reaching out to the Trade Union of Information and Education of Vietnam for support. We worked closely with them to connect with the school principal and present our vision of enhancing technology access for the students. The process involved careful planning, securing funds, and overcoming logistical challenges inherent in working in a remote location.

Technology for Every Child, Everywhere

The outcome was transformative. The new computer lab breathed new life into the school environment. The students’ excitement and joy upon entering the room for the first time were truly rewarding. The lab not only offered them access to technology but also bridged the gap between rural and urban education, empowering them to explore new horizons and realize their potential.
